BSH company establishes 1st African factory in 10th of Ramadan City
Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, held a meeting with Luis Alvarez, CEO of BSH Egypt for Home Appliances, and his delegation to discuss the advancements of the company’s flagship manufacturing project in 10th of Ramadan City.
During the meeting, El-Khatib highlighted the progress of the company’s initiative to produce stoves under the Golden License system. With an investment of €55 million, this factory marks BSH’s first in Africa.
The facility plans to split its production evenly, with 50 percent dedicated to exports targeting Middle Eastern and African markets, and the other 50 percent catering to domestic demand.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fully supporting the project and collaborating with various entities to address any potential obstacles.
He also underscored Egypt’s strategic position as a prime destination for global investment, citing its unique geographic location connecting three continents, skilled workforce, competitive wages, and numerous trade agreements that open doors to regional and international markets.
Luis Alvarez expressed his enthusiasm for establishing a solid footprint in Egypt, describing the country as a vital industrial and export hub for the Middle East and Africa.
He further announced that the factory’s official launch is scheduled for next month, signaling the start of a new era for BSH in the region.
