ITIDA Partners with Konecta to Launch Regional Headquarters
The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Konecta Egypt, a subsidiary of the Spanish Konecta Group, to establish the company’s new headquarters in New Cairo. This headquarters will serve as a regional hub for Konecta’s global operations, supporting markets across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
As part of the agreement, Konecta plans to invest approximately $100 million in Egypt over the next three years. The company will provide cutting-edge digital and technological services, including AI solutions, digital transformation, big data analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), technical support, and multilingual customer service in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
A key initiative under this partnership is the establishment of Konecta’s first global Center of Excellence for Generative AI in Egypt. This center will focus on transferring advanced knowledge and expertise to Egyptian professionals in fields like conversational AI, data analytics, and other emerging technologies, fostering local talent and innovation.
This collaboration aligns with Egypt’s goal of increasing outsourcing service exports to $9 billion by 2026, positioning the country as a competitive player in the global outsourcing and IT market.
