Suez Canal Authority partners with Oman Logistics for maritime, logistics cooperation
The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has formalized a vision exchange agreement with Oman Integrated Logistics Services to strengthen collaboration in maritime operations and logistics.
The agreement identifies key areas of cooperation, including advanced training programs, ship repair, and maintenance. It aims to capitalize on the expertise of SCA’s shipyards and the advanced capabilities of the Suez Canal Maritime Training and Simulation Academy.
Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the SCA, reiterated the authority’s dedication to becoming a regional hub for logistics services. This ambition has driven the introduction of new maritime services, such as fuel supply, crew changes, and maritime ambulance support.
Rabie also highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance ship repair and maintenance facilities, provide emergency technical support, and foster strategic partnerships to optimize vessel transit experiences.
Key initiatives under the partnership include joint marketing efforts to attract Omani fleet vessels to the Suez Canal, the potential establishment of a consultancy center for technical and logistical support, and organizing workshops and conferences to exchange best practices and improve efficiency across the maritime and logistics sectors.
Oman’s ambassador to Egypt, Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, praised the Suez Canal as a global leader in providing top-tier maritime and logistics services. He expressed enthusiasm for deeper collaboration, emphasizing the value of SCA’s expertise in aligning with Oman’s Vision 2040, which prioritizes maritime industry development.
