Barrick Gold Looks Forward to Acquiring New Mining Concessions in Egypt
This came during talks between Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Bristow on the sidelines of his participation in the Mining Indaba 2025 Conference held in Cape Town, South Africa, during the period from February 3-6.
During the meeting, they discussed key aspects of cooperation and reviewed the latest progress in securing approvals and finalizing procedures for the exploitation agreement that was agreed upon during the BEBA delegation.
Badawi also presented what has been achieved in the last period to develop the mining sector, including the transformation of the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) into an economic entity, which is a significant step toward attracting more global investments.
Additionally, he pointed to the sustainable practices and protection of the environment, aiming to build a sustainable and responsive mining sector in Egypt.
