Egypt: Project for world’s largest green hydrogen plant gets underway
The first phase is expected to be completed in 2030, the second in 2033 and the third in 2035.
Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) has launched a project to build the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in South Sinai, in collaboration with the Ministry of Military Production, at a cost of $17 billion.
The plant, which will be built on an area of 127 square kilometers, aims to produce up to 400 thousand tons of hydrogen green per year. The first phase is expected to be completed in 2030, the second in 2033 and the third in 2035.
