The Egyptian Travel Agents Associations (ETAA) sent a letter to the General Manager of Saudi Airlines regarding Saudi flights booked by Egyptian tourism companies, following the suspension of issuing Umrah visas by Saudi agents.

The ETAA explained that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia had set the capacity for Saudi agents to issue visas in Egypt, which led to the suspension of the issuance process and impacted Egyptian tourism companies.

It requested the General Manager of Saudi Airlines to exempt Egyptian tourism companies from any financial penalties when canceling Umrah trips, due to the suspension of issuing visas by Saudi agents since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

The ETAA added that this request comes as part of the ongoing cooperation between both sides to overcome any obstacles facing Umrah trips, and to preserve the rights of Egyptian Umrah pilgrims impacted by this decision.
