Over 15K people attend controversial Anyma concert at Giza Pyramids

The Giza Pyramids area witnessed one of its largest and most unusual musical performances, sparking both praise and controversy.

Acclaimed international electronic musician “Anyma” performed their latest concert, attended by over 15,000 people, including approximately 4,000 Egyptians and 11,000 foreign tourists.


The concert, held at the foot of the pyramids, was performed by Italian-American artist Matteo Milleri, whose Anyma project, combines electronic music, light tricks, and dazzling visual performances, which offers a state-of-the-art experience that blends technology and art at the heart of the oldest archaeological landmark in the world.


A one-of-a-kind experience


In this first for Egypt, Anyma divided the concert into two integrated parts.


The first part, titled “Quantum,” focused on modern electronic music. The second, “Genesis Ending,” featured a state-of-the-art visual spectacle utilizing 3D lighting and giant lighting tricks across two stages and a massive screen, the largest in Egyptian concert history.


According to concert organizer Rabie Moqbel, in an interview with the “al-Hekaya” TV show, over 10,000 foreign tourists arrived in Egypt specifically for the event, while approximately 3,000 Egyptian workers participated in its organization and preparation.
