Egypt Stocks: EFG-Hermes, Lecico Egypt and Asec Co. for Mining
Egypt’s benchmark EGX 30 Index (EGX30) advanced for a second day, gaining 0.4 percent to 4,644.85 at the 1:30 p.m. close in Cairo. The following shares rose or fell. Symbols are in parentheses. Asec Co. for Mining (ASCM EY) lost 2.9 percent to 9.41 Egyptian pounds, the lowest level since March. The unit of Cairo-based private equity firm Citadel Capital SAE had a six- month net loss of 72.3 million pounds ($12 million) compared with a profit of 14.4 million pounds a year-earlier. EFG-Hermes Holding SAE (HRHO EY) fell 1.3 percent, the most in almost a week, to 17.38 pounds. Second-quarter profit at Egypt’s biggest publicly traded investment bank fell 18 percent to 78.9 million pounds. Lecico Egypt (LCSW EY) dropped 1.7 percent to 8.18 pounds, the lowest level since December 2009. The Alexandria, Egypt- based producer of sanitary ware and tiles said second-quarter profit fell 80 percent to 5.1 million pounds.
