Egypt leads African startup landscape with $329M raised in 2024

Egyptian startups raised $329 million through 78 funding rounds, reflecting a 21 percent year-over-year decline.

50 percent of the outstanding dues will be disbursed in cash over four fiscal years, starting this year, with annual payments of EGP 8 billion.

Egypt has become the second country on the continent, after Nigeria, with the highest number of applicants for this award.

The ministry underlined that merely 0.3 percent of grants got rejected, mostly because of not submitting the necessary documents.
