Director – Infrastructure Development & Construction

Contribute to the development of the annual Division plan ensuring that it is aligned with the overall Department plan at ERC.

A. Division Planning:
? Contribute to the development of the annual Division plan ensuring that it is aligned with the overall Department plan.
B. Team Development:
? Provide direction to subordinates and support in the achievement of their job requirements through managing performance, motivation, provision of appraisals and other formal and informal feedback in order to ensure a positive work climate that maximizes subordinate and Division performance.
C. Technical/Engineering Pool:
? Direct the identification, selection and maintenance of a pool of technical experts, both from internal and external resources, in the fields of civil engineering, electrical engineering, hydraulic (network) mechanical engineering, integrated communication technology, landscaping, etc., ensuring the continuous provision of the best quality services for the development of the Sahl Hasheesh project.
? Identify future needs and actively seek the update of the technical/engineering pool in order to ensure that the company is capable of delivering the development projects with the best available technical resources.
? Direct and manage the search, initiation of contact and the short listing process of technical consultants, contractors, subcontractors and other vendors to gain a deeper understanding of their delivery capabilities.
D. Resources Assignment:
? Oversee the process of inspection of all the requisitions for internal resources that are sent from the project managers, ensuring the identification of the best suitable resources.
? Ensure the optimal allotment of the technical resources throughout the development and construction stage, based on the requirement specifications from the project manager.
E. Technical Resource Monitoring:
? Direct the monitoring of the technical resources’ performance for each development project and review reports on a regular basis on the use of technical resources, in order to ensure efficiency in both cost and use of resources.
F. Project Management:
? Manage the external and internal project managers for each assigned development project, in order to ensure they follow the project specifications, the people and time allotments, and the company’s quality standards.
G. Quality Control:
? Contribute to the on-site control investigations during construction, ensuring the contractors follow the design and quality standards within the approved budget.
H. Procurement & Contracts:
? Contribute actively to the contracts and procurement process for contractors and consultants by providing technical expertise on the scope of work and assisting in the development of the RFP content etc to ensure consistency and quality in the selection of the best-fit contractor or consultant.
I. Knowledge Transfer:
? Develop and manage a knowledge base in order to share best experiences and methods used across company for future projects development.
? Ensure all relevant experience and knowledge is transferred to the direct reports to build a highly professional and knowledgeable workforce for ERC.

Skills

Minimum Qualifications:
? University Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture
? Certificate in Project Management will be an added advantage.
Minimum Experience:
? 7 -10 years Project Management experience
? Out of which, 4 - 6 years experience of managing third party contactors in the execution of projects.
? Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects.
