Job Offer: Production System Administrator

Job Description :

• Administration of the servers’ park, supervising servers and services


• Developing and launching new system services (mail, monitoring, central authentication)


• Automating deployments and administration with open-source tools (saltstack, graphite, Nagios, …)


• Investigating technical issues, troubleshooting and deploying fixes


• Network and server security


• Participating in R&D on NoSQL DB, system multithreading and data crunching


• Install and configure software and hardware


• Manage network servers and technology tools


• Set up accounts and workstations


• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements


• Troubleshoot issues and outages


• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls


• Upgrade systems with new releases and models


• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies


• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies

Qualifications :

• Academic training in IT


• Good working knowledge of Debian linux systems and standard services (DNS, email, web hosting, ssh, cryptography, security)


• You know everything can be automated and all manual work can be simplified and streamlined. You have an extensive knowledge of IT and technology in general.


• Must be pragmatic. You are willing to embrace change in a fast-growing company. Attention to details and rigor in execution.


• Proven experience as a System Administrator,Network Administratoror similar role


• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management


• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery


• Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language


• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms


• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude


• Excellent communication skills


• BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
