Systems Administrator

Bright Creations is a Cairo based software solutions provider specializing in providing custom Java solutions to clients locally and internationally. We work on projects ranging from CRM, HR, ERP and Content Management Systems through to creative web-applications.

The main responsibilities of the Linux System Administrator will be to manage Linux Enterprise Servers which support the company infrastructure and client projects. Your responsibility will be to setup and maintain server environments, refresh environments, update and install software, perform updates, configuration changes and deploy projects. This will also involve setting up project repositories, deploying code, deploying and configuring application servers, web servers and controlling user access. Along with this, you will generate and update documentation relating to the infrastructure procedures, design, configuration and issues encountered to ensure repeatability during environment setup. Your responsibilities will also include diagnosing and resolving issues with configuration, etc. to respond and troubleshoot issues quickly. You will also be responsible for maintaining the office network, including troubleshooting router, switch and VoIP issues. Designing and implementing security policies, system backup and recover procedures, both hardware and software will be essential.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Minimum 2 years experience in Linux OS and Red Hat. Exposure to installing, patching and maintaining of any Enterprise Applications suite (CRM, ERP, BI etc.) in a multi-tier Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments. Good knowledge of Linux operating system concepts, including file system, kernel memory, networking, and security concepts. Working knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, Java, PHP, HTML, CSS, Shell Scripting, CRON Jobs, Backup Procedures, etc.. Working knowledge of configuring web and application servers. Ability to perform security management by auditing and maintaining roles, privileges, and user profiles. Experience in Implementing change control and insuring that changes to the production systems are properly coordinated. Knowledge of third-party change and version control tools such as subversion is a plus.

Fluent English to be able to document procedures clearly and concisely. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with senior management. Knowledge of load balancing technologies is a plus. Knowledge of databases/software/documentation will be useful.
