No intention to increase price of subsidized bread
Head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) Field Marshall Mohamed Hussein Tantawi made a phone call on Thursday 10/11/2011 with Solidarity and Social Justice Minister Gouda Abdel-Khaleq to inquire about the information leaked on intention to increase price of subsidized bread.
SCAF Head demanded not to increase the price of subsidized bread.
For his part, Minister Abdel-Khaleq affirmed that there is no intention to increase the price of subsidized bread.
The government is committed to improving the condition of the subsidized loaf of bread which is sold at 5 piasters, Abdel-Khaleq told MENA.
He also refuted reports about the possibility of selling subsidized loaf of bread at 10 piasters.
