Samsung confirms Leadership in Global Imaging Industry

The most coveted photo and imaging awards worldwide TIPA awarded Samsung four different prizes.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, announced recently that it has won four awards from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) this year. TIPA is an international association based in Spain and concerned with the latest innovations and trends in the imaging industry. TIPA recognized Samsung in the following categories ‘Best General Compact Camera’, ‘Best Mobile Imaging Device’, ‘Best Photo Monitor’ and ‘Best Photo TV Display’.

Every year, the TIPA board votes for the best photo and imaging products introduced to the market during the previous 12 months, globally. Criteria for winning include; innovation, use of cutting-edge technology, unique design and ease-of-use. As a leader in the digital convergence technologies, Samsung stood out with its unique range of products offered in the market including the MV800 camera, the GALAXY Nexus mobile, the Samsung OLED TV and the SyncMaster S24/27A850 monitor.

Samsung's trendsetting MultiView MV800 won the ‘Best General Compact Camera Award’, with the award recognizing the camera's unique 180 degree, 16.1 Megapixels, 3.0” touch-screen Flip-out Display that allows perfect capture at extreme high or long angle shots and easy viewing of self-portraits. The Samsung GALAXY Nexus won the ‘Best Mobile Imaging Device Award’ for its “innovative HD Super AMOLED display” that enables users to view photos and videos in high resolution with a wide viewing angle, whilst the Samsung SyncMaster S24/27A850 monitor was awarded the ‘Best Photo Monitor Award’ in recognition of its uniquely accurate colors and the wider viewing angle that it offers in comparison to other monitors. Finally, Samsung’s OLED TV was awarded the ‘Best Photo TV Display Award’.

Samsung received the awards in a ceremony that took place in September 2012, at Photokina in Cologne, Germany.
