Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, announced recently that they have been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 QMS certification for Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2004 EMS certification for Environment Management System and ISO OHSAS 18001:2007 SMS certification for Safety Management System for the strict quality procedures followed across the different departments at the Company’s offices in Egypt.
Huawei Egypt started to apply for the certificates by identifying areas of non compliance against ISO requirements followed by preparing a manual of the needed actions to match the ISO measurements and once the requirements were fulfilled, the accredited certified body awarded Huawei Egypt with the ISO certificates.
“Being a leader in the telecommunication sector in Egypt, it is essential for us to follow the global ISO standards which help us increase efficiency and improve productivity to further ensure our customers’ satisfaction and trust in our offered services and products”. said Mr. Robinson Cao – CEO of Huawei Egypt.
The “ISO 9001:2008 QMS” certification is a live proof that Huawei Egypt is in command of their internal quality process, improving efficiency and readiness to conquer potential new markets through competitive standards. In addition, working on obtaining The “ISO 14001:2004” certification assisted Huawei Egypt in
reducing its carbon footprint and lowering the environmental liability by improving environmental policies and objectives
“The ISO 14001:2004 EMS will further guarantee our customers’ confidence in our provided services quality with no harm to the overall environment system which is a key concern to us as green environment is one of our global business pillars.” Added Mr. Cao.
Huawei Egypt previously obtained the ISO OHSAS two years ago for applying strict health and safety procedures to minimize the risks and improve employees’ wellbeing. These procedures have been the utmost priority since Huawei began to operate in Egypt. In November 2012, when Huawei passed the 2nd surveillance audit, it was recommended to extend the certification period till end of 2013.
Huawei Egypt has cooperated with TÜV Rheinland Group as one of the authorized official certified bodies to acquire the ISO certifications. TÜV Rheinland Group was founded in 1872 and headquartered in Cologne. The Group’s mission and guiding principle is to achieve sustained development of safety and quality in order to meet the challenges arising from the interaction between man, technology and the environment.
TÜV Rheinland Group strongly recommended Huawei Egypt to obtain the ISO certificates and OHSAS without any major or minor conformity.
