Western Union launches my WU Service in Egypt
Western Union (NYSE: WU), a leader in money transfer and global payment services, recently unveiled the “My WU” program in Egypt. The free service provides premium benefits for enrolled customers including free SMS notification on pay-out, online access to transaction history and a dedicated customer call center. The “My WU” service has been launched across select markets as WU seeks to provide customers a more personalized and convenient money transfer experience.
To kick off the “My WU” service, all customers that enroll in the free program and conduct at least one send or receive transaction will be automatically entered into a draw for the chance to win one of 60 Samsung Star mobile phones (model S52-82). The promotion, which runs from December 10, 2013 until February 10, 2014 includes transactions made at all Western Union agents in Egypt: International Business Associates (IBAG), Arab African International Bank (AAIB) and Alex Bank . The draw will take place on March 10, 2014 and winners will be notified via a phone call.
Enrolling in the “My WU” program allows customers in Egypt to send and receive money transfers more quickly because the basic customer information required to make a transaction is readily available through the My WU service. For example, when sending money transfers transaction time could be reduced by more than half.
