Egypt preparing to use ACI in airports

As part of Egypt’s efforts to transform to digital operations in export, import and logistics, the government plans to apply the Advanced Cargo Information system (ACI) in airports in a pilot form soon.
The system has been applied at some sea ports since October 2021 and will cover all ports by end of June 2022.
The ACI system reduced clearance duration and cost of trade which will boost trade revenues and facilitate procedures for all parties.
Egypt is hoping to become a logistic hub on the global level, and for that digital transformation, automation and using the latest technologies is needed.
