Egypt's Industry Minister attends D-8 meeting in Turkey
Industry Minister Mahmoud Eissa is leading Egypt's delegation to the second ministerial meeting of the Developing Eight (D-8), which kicked off in Istanbul, Turkey, on Tuesday 4/10/2011 and lasts until Thursday 6/10/2011.
In pre-departure statements, Eissa said the meeting will focus on industrial cooperation among the eight developing countries, particularly car industry, steel, petrochemicals, fertilizers, electronics and energy, as well as small- and medium-sized enterprises.
The D-8 is a group of developing countries with large Muslim populations that have formed an economic development alliance.
It consists of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey. Meanwhile the Egyptian-Turkish business council will hold its 10th session of talks on Sunday in Cairo.
The Egyptian Businessmen's Association (EBA) will host the meeting that will take up Arab-Turkish industrial cooperation.
