Misr for Chemicals Industry starts construction of evaporators unit
Misr for Chemicals Industry (MCI), a subsidiary of Chemical Industries Holding Company, began the establishment of a new caustic soda evaporators unit with around EGP 130 million in investments, according to an official statement on December 18th.
The new unit aims to increase the concentration of caustic soda from 33% to 50% to increase operation and production capacities to over 400 tons.
The project is executed in partnership with the German engineering group thyssenkrupp.
It is worth noting that MCI is 30%-owned by the private sector. The company produces chlorine, caustic soda, hydrogen, and sodium hypochlorite.
