Thousands of state employees to move to new capital by March
Around 30,000 public employees will be gradually relocated to the New Administrative Capital (NAC) by the beginning of March 2023, said Khaled Abbas, Managing Director and Board Chairman of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) Company.
Relocation of Cabinet employees to NAC has begun this week. The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Youth and Sport are set to move to the new capital next week, to be followed by the Ministry of Planning the week after.
A total of 9,000 housing units have been allocated for the public employees moving to the NAC and will be delivered soon. In addition, the Ministry of Housing is constructing 20,000 units at the moment which are expected to be delivered gradually from March until the end of the year.
