Egypt's exports of building materials rise 7% YoY in 11 months
Egypt's exports of building materials, refractory, and metallurgy industries rose 7% year-on-year (YoY) in the first 11 months of 2022 to $6.37 billion from $5.94 billion, according to a report by the Export Council of Building, Refractory and Metallurgy Industries on January 16th.
The UAE topped the list of importers with $843 million, followed by Canada with $795 million and Italy with $550 million.
Meanwhile, Egyptian cement exports saw a 37% YoY surge to $602 million from $438 million.
Ghana was the top cement importer with $135.43 million, followed by Ivory Coast with $70.87 million and Cameroon with $58.32 million.
The country's exports of cast iron and steel totaled $1.3 billion from January through November 2022, a 20% annual decrease from $1.6 billion.
Spain was the largest importer of Egyptian cast iron and steel products at $260.9 million, followed by Italy at $194.69 million and Saudi Arabia at $179.38 million.
