Spain ink protocol to establish railway passenger cars’ factory
Egyptian National Railways (ENR) has signed a cooperation protocol with the Spanish company Talgo to establish the Talgo Egypt factory for the manufacture of railway passenger cars, Transport Ministry stated on March 22nd.
The protocol was signed by ENR’s Chairman Mohamed Amer and Talgo’s regional director Mohamed Khadra.
The factory will locally manufacture 50 high-tech Talgo trains as the first stage and another 50 as the second stage.
Minister of Transport Kamel Al Wazir said that this cooperation protocol comes as per the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to localize heavy industries in Egypt.
