Uflex: Indian film producer sets up PET production in Egypt

Indian film producer sets up PET factory in Ain Sokhna, Egypt. Through its subsidiary Flex P Films Egypt, the Indian packaging film manufacturer Uflex (Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh / India) is planning to build a PET production plant at the Egyptian petrochemical site Ain Sokhna. The plant is to be built in the "SIDC Industrial Park". The investment is reportedly around USD 110 million (EUR 100 million). It is the first PET production for the film manufacturer ever.

The project is to be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 is scheduled to start operations in the first half of 2024, while Phase 2 is expected to be implemented by mid-2025. More than 700 jobs will be created at the site.
