Egypt’s population rises by 220K in 55 days
The number of the Egyptian population increased by about 220,000 people in 55 days as of Friday, May 26, 2023, making making the total number of people living domestically 104,971,000, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported Friday.
The population of Egypt inside Egypt reached about 104.4 million in January 2023, according to what was announced by the population watch of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, which is linked to the birth and death registration database at the Ministry of Health and Population.
The Ministry of Health and Population indicated in a press statement in February that senior citizens (aged above 60) would make up 13.8 percent of the population whose average age would be 29.7 by 2050.
As such, the number of senior citizens will be around 22 million out of the expected 160 million Egyptians, as estimated by a November United Nations report.
