127 Thousand New Investors Joined Egyptian Exchange During First 3 Months of 2023

The Egyptian Exchange (EE) witnessed an increase in the number of new investors, reaching 127 thousand new investors during the first quarter of 2023.

This number is compared to about 28 thousand new investors during the comparison period of last year so the stock exchange continues to achieve a leap in the number of investors after it recorded 176 thousand investors during the year 2022.

The EE divided the number of new investors over the stock exchange into 126,000 individual investors and half a million institutional investors until March 30, 2023.

It is noteworthy that the market of capital of shares listed in the in-cabin market recorded EGP 1,049.1 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 44.42% over the same period of the previous year, and the ratio of market capitalization to GDP at the end of the period was 13.37%.
