Arab Foreign Ministers back Egypt’s candidate for UNESCO top post
The Council of Arab Foreign Ministers backed the candidacy of Egypt’s former Antiquities Minister Khaled al-Anani for the position of Director-General of the United Nations Educational and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) from 2025-2029.
“The Council of Arab Foreign Ministers approved Anani’s candidacy as part of endorsing Arab nominations for some international positions,” the spokesperson for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu-Zeid wrote on Wednesday in a post on his account on X, formerly Twitter.
