Egypt, Zimbabwe Sign MoU to Provide Smart, Affordable Housing
Assem Al-Gazzar, the Egyptian Minister of Housing stated that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with the Ministry of National Housing and Social Facilities in Zimbabwe to cooperate in providing low- and medium-cost, sustainable and smart housing, using modern construction technology.
The MoU was signed to benefit from the Egyptian experience in the field after providing thousands of adequate housing units in the country.
The signing was signed by Daniel Garwe, Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities in Zimbabwe, and Amin Ghoneim, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for the Real Estate and Commercial Affairs Sector.
The minister of housing explained that the memorandum of understanding aims to exchange information, expertise and technical capabilities between the two ministries in the areas of housing policies, housing plans and programmes to provide innovative planning and suitable housing at affordable prices.
A joint executive committee will be formed by both sides to determine priority areas of concern.
