Egypt Pumps EGP 20 Million in Coins to Avoid Change Shortage on Eid al-Adha

The Ministry of Finance confirmed that 20 million pounds “change” was issued in coins on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha; to meet the needs of citizens, the government sector such as the Metro Authority, and the private sector such as major commercial chains.

The Public Treasury and Mint Authority had prepared early for the Eid al-Adha season, in coordination with all concerned parties in Cairo and the governorates, and modern technological mechanisms have helped double the production capacity of coins “change” before the seasons and holidays.
