AJet Turkish Airlines launches flights from Istanbul to Cairo
AJet Turkish Airlines has announced the commencement of flights from Istanbul to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, a statement on the company’s website said.
The inaugural flight from Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Istanbul to Cairo took off on Friday, with five flights due to depart each week.
According to the statement, AJet aims to boost tourism and trade between Turkiye and Egypt by transporting thousands of visitors annually between the two countries.
In a press release, the company’s CEO, Kerem Sarp, expressed his delight at the launch of the new route and added that AJet plans to introduce flights to other cities in Egypt.
“Egypt is a very important destination for us, and in October we plan to start flights to the Red Sea coastal Egyptian cities of Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.”
