The agreement was signed by Hossam El-Meadawy, CEO of the institutional sector at e& Egypt, and Samy Shedied, chairman and managing director of NCTS.

NCTS is responsible for managing the commercial capacity of the Tiba 1 satellite and is the sole company authorized by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to operate a satellite network within the Ka-band. This bandwidth allows licensed companies to provide satellite-based telecommunications services using the VSAT system.

The company began offering its services to all entities in January.

The agreement enables e& Egypt to deliver a diverse range of advanced telecommunications services through the commercial capacity of Tiba 1, specifically targeting remote areas where traditional telecom services are weak.

This new service is expected to give various sectors in Egypt, such as petroleum, mining, and tourism, a competitive edge, especially for companies operating in remote areas, including safari tour operators.

The e& Egypt technical team has conducted several tests to ensure the service’s quality and compliance with NTRA standards.

The agreement also supports large-scale national projects such as "Mostakbal Masr-Ras El Hekma," providing telecommunications services until the necessary infrastructure and cell towers are established.

"This partnership will allow us to deliver innovative telecom solutions that contribute to developing Egypt's telecommunications sector and provide coverage across all regions. We are proud to be the first company in Egypt to adopt this competitive technology," said El-Meadawy.

Formerly known as Etisalat by e&, e& Egypt was established in 2006 and is regarded as one of the pioneering companies in the telecommunications and information technology sectors, achieving significant growth in the Egyptian market.
