Dalia Elbaz takes helm as new chairman of Egypt Post

Elbaz was ranked 13th on Forbes Middle East’s list of the 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen for 2024.

She will succeed Sherif Farouk, who has been appointed Minister of Supply and Internal Trade.


Elbaz also serves as the communications minister's advisor for postal affairs. She is a prominent executive leader in the banking sector, with over 30 years of experience in risk management, operations, information technology (IT), and corporate governance.


She has served as the Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) since September 2017.


Before that, she was the Deputy Executive Manager of Operations and IT from December 2015 to 2017. From 2008 to 2015, she headed the Operational Risk Management Group at NBE.


She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in economics from the American University in Cairo (AUC).


In addition, she serves as the chairperson of Al-Ahly Payments and is a non-executive director at NBE (UK) Limited.


Furthermore, Elbaz was ranked 13th on Forbes Middle East’s list of the 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen for 2024, underscoring her significant influence and leadership in the industry.
