Egypt plans local production line for modern combat aircraft
The Arab Organization for Industrialization [AOI] is positioning itself as a pivotal player in the global aerospace arena. This assertion comes directly from Major General Mukhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of AOI’s Board of Directors, who recently highlighted the organization’s ambitions and achievements during a series of press statements.
With a steadfast focus on collaboration, AOI is working hand in hand with Egypt’s armed forces and international partners to design and produce a domestically-manufactured advanced military training aircraft.
Central to AOI’s success is its Helwan Aircraft Factory, a facility that has been instrumental in delivering diverse aircraft models tailored to Egypt’s defense needs.
The factory’s crowning achievement is the K-8E military trainer, with an impressive production run of 120 aircraft for the Egyptian Armed Forces. This milestone underscores the factory’s capacity and AOI’s commitment to developing indigenous solutions for the nation’s defense.
