Egypt signs 2 contracts in food industries, textiles worth $38 mln
These projects will cover an area of 137,000 square metres and create 1,450 job opportunities. They are expected to begin operations in the final quarter of 2025.
The SCZone signed the first contract with the Turkish company Saray Bisküvi ve Gıda San. A.Ş., a prominent snack producer established in 1961 in Karaman, Turkey.
The $8 million project will span 45,000 square metres and create 450 job opportunities.
Saray Bisküvi ve Gıda San. A.Ş. produces biscuits, wafers, chocolates, cakes, crackers, and candies. It exports over 50,000 tons annually (90 percent of its total production) to more than 110 countries.
The second contract was signed with Chinese Kelida, a company with over 30 years of experience producing fabrics and home textiles. Kelida will invest $30 million in the project, which will be established on an area of 92,000 square metres and create 1,000 direct job opportunities.
Over 90 percent of the products will be exported, mainly to Europe and the United States.
