Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed the necessity of sustaining efforts to accelerate the implementation of integrated logistics axes to serve development through networking production areas and maritime ports currently undergoing upgrades.

This reaffirmation was made during a meeting President Sisi convened on Sunday with Prime Minister Dr Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Transport and Industry Lieutenant General Kamel el-Wazir, and Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayyed Ahmed, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy said.

These ports are envisioned as pivotal, world-class facilities with substantial capacity and diverse logistical zones. This step aligns with the development of a modern transportation network, including roads, axes, and railways, to establish the necessary infrastructure for transforming Egypt into a global hub for trade and logistics, delivering significant benefits to the national economy, the spokesman said.

During the meeting, President Sisi reviewed the progress of ongoing projects implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Industry, particularly those related to the establishment, modernisation, and operation of ports across the country.

Recognising the essential role these ports play in national development, the president directed the continuation of efforts to expedite the establishment of integrated logistical development hubs, aiming to connect production areas to developing maritime ports, transforming them into high-capacity, globally competitive facilities equipped with diverse logistical services, el-Shennawy said.
