Egypt signs agreement for €7bn green hydrogen project that will produce one million tons of green ammonia a year
The facility, being developed by France’s EDF and UAE-based Zero Waste, will largely provide ammonia fuel for ships traversing the Suez Canal. The Egyptian government has signed a “co-operation agreement” with French utility EDF and UAE-based Zero Waste for a €7bn green hydrogen project near the Gulf of Suez that would produce more than one million metric tons of green ammonia annually, largely for use as a shipping fuel.
