Sell more creatively online
In this week's digital news from our CEO Torsten Schwarz we learn how to sell following the example of Twitter, Google, Snap and Disney.
Twitter sells blue ticks
How can money be made with Twitter? According to Elon Musk, by selling the blue checkmark that previously distinguished verified profiles. For eight US dollars, users are supposed to buy the blue tick and thus see only half as much advertising, publish long videos and audio content and possibly bypass media paywalls. Musk had initially suggested a price of 20 US dollars, but had to row back after harsh criticism.
Snap sells glasses
Snap has been relying on virtual try-ons for a long time now and has delighted its users with them. According to Snap's own statements, its AR Shopping Lenses solution has already been used five billion times. This has now also caught the attention of Amazon. The partnership that has just been agreed provides for the models of several popular eyewear brands to be tried out on Snapchat. These include brands such as Maui Jim, Persol, Oakley, Ray-Ban and Costa Del Mar.
WhatsApp sells QR tickets
Residents of the Indian city of Bangalore can buy their train ticket via a QR code in WhatsApp. The system runs via a chatbot. All it takes is an informal "Hi" and passengers can choose whether they need a simple train ticket, a subscription or just the timetable after all.
Disney sells merchandise
Streaming movies and series has long beenpossible on Disney+. In addition, you can now order merchandise of your favourite franchise on the streaming platform. Among others, Star Wars, Marvel, Disney Animation Studios and Pixar are included. A QR code on the screen leads to the shop page. Of course, there is also a regular online shop.
Google sells coupons
A new feature from Google shows whether a promo code or coupon ??is available for a product. Another new feature is "coupon clipping", which allows promo codes to be copied. Users do not even have to use the shopping tab for this, but will find both innovations directly in the search. Other features of the shopping tab such as "Price Insights" are also integrated into the search results.
