Egypt, Iraq and Jordan take steps for further cooperation
The Jordanian, Egyptian and Iraqi trade and industry ministries have been in talks over the past weeks to plan a scheme for industrial and trade integration between them.
Minister Nevine Gamea, Of the Egyptian ministry of trade and industry stated that a technical team will visit Iraq in the upcoming weeks to have a complete picture of the Iraqi market potential and needs, as well as pinpoint investment opportunities in the country. The visits will be in cooperation with the Jordanian embassy in Iraq, as Jordan will be a partner in the project.
The 3 countries are looking to establish a number of joint projects and cooperate in the fields of pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, leather, ceramics and chemicals among others.
The Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals stated that they are open to the establishment of a permanent exhibition for Egyptian and Jordanian products in his country.
The ministries agreed to study facilitating customs and easing restrictions that can affect the trading between them.
