Sudan, Egypt opens land port to boost border trade
Sudan and Egypt have opened the first land port on the border between the two countries, a top government official unveiled on Friday.The inauguration of the Qustul land port will boost the volume of trade between the two African countries, the Sudanese first vice president Bakri Hassan Salih told reporters.
Salih said at Qustul crossing point that the opening of the land port will remarkably strengthen the cooperation between the two countries at all levels.
He further promised to implement the four freedoms agreement between the two countries which include the freedoms of movement, ownership, residence and work.
For his part the Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mihlib has commend the step, adding that it will boost the trade relations between the two neighbors.
He revealed that the current volume of trade has reached $14 million .
