Monti (ICE), new mission with Calenda in July
''We will return to Egypt in July with a mission led by deputy Economic Development Minister Carlo Calenda" said ICE president Riccardo Monti during a meeeting organised this morning in Rome by the agency for the promotion and internationalisation of Italian companies also attended by Egyptian Minister for Industry and Commerce, Mounir Fakry Abdel Nour. "These are months of intense bilateral co-operation between Egypt and Italy". The economic conference of Sharm El Sheikh (13-15 March) - he stressed - ''has meant a strong push forward for Egypt".
Many memorandum of understanding were signed but what will be the end-results? ''There are many opportunities to be taken advantage of, more than they can actually chew as they admitted themselves, but there is concrete interest on the part of the government for infrastructural projects and also towards foreign companies operating in the country". During the summit - stressed the ICE president "we met six ministers and spent one hour and a half with president Sisi and two with premier Mahlab. It's not easy to garner such attention.
That's why - he added - "we are optimistic"
