Egypt-Israel trade exchange volume hikes to $60M in 2015 H1
Trade exchange volume between Egypt and Israel increased by 61 million EGP ($7.79 million) during the first half of 2015 to reach 468 million EGP ($59.77 million,) Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported Tuesday.
Compared to the first half of the previous year, the trade exchange volume elevated, recording 407 million EGP in 2014.
CAPMAS said in its monthly report on foreign trade that the total Egyptian exports to Israel during the first half of the current year recorded 260 million EGP, compared to 225 million EGP ($28.7 million) during the same period of the last year.
On the other hand, Egyptian imports from Israel reached 208 million EGP during 2015 H1, surging from 182 million EGP during the same period of 2014.
In 2014, the Egyptian-Israeli trade exchange volume declined by 18 percent since 2010 when it recorded $415 million including $355 million in Egyptian exports to Israel, according to a report issued by the Israeli Center’s Bureau of Statistics.
