Egypt ranks 18th globally in road quality
The cabinet’s media center asserted that Egypt was able in the past ten years to build a interconnected national road network extending in different governorates.
This came in a report published by the center including infographics that shed light that Egypt advanced 100 ranks in the index of global ranking of road quality to come in the 18th rank globally within ten years because of the national road project.
The pace accelerated to develop the infrastructure and improve the quality of roads according to the global criteria as it is an important pillar to achieve the goals of economic and social development plans.
This will contribute to facilitating economic activities and attracting more investments to improve the living quality of the Egyptians in addition to increasing the safety rates on different roads and decrease the percentage of accidents, the report said.
About 6300 km roads were implement as part of 7000 km of the national road projects at a cost of LE155 billion, the report added.
